Start with a plain text file

A plain text file is a modest promise: you can open this somewhere else.
Markdown keeps that promise while adding enough structure for useful writing. Headings, links, lists, and code are usually all a technical note needs.
Make the source readable
from pathlib import Path
notes = Path("notes.md").read_text()
print(notes)
The source remains understandable before any renderer touches it. That makes review easier and migration less frightening.
Keep the workflow small
Write a draft. Read the preview. Publish when the idea is clear. You can change the tools later without moving the idea into a different shape.
A good format fades into the background. Your words should be the part that lasts.
